Sahara Power Projects

Sahara Infrastructure & Housing, originated to hasten the pace of progress of the country, is the largest Infrastructure & Housing Company with an array of multi-dimensional ventures like Mini & Mega townships, Shopping Malls & Commercial Complexes across India.

The objective of Sahara Power Projects is to provide continuous, reliable and good quality power at rates equivalent to or lower than prevailing market rates to the beneficiaries of Sahara City Homes and for all on-going/ proposed Projects of Sahara Infrastructure & Housing including Amby Valley City. The estimated load requirement for all the Sahara City Homes and other Projects is more than 6000 MW. Sahara Group shall be the largest consumer of power in the Private Sector in India.

In order to fulfill the huge requirement of Power, Sahara Power Projects has been launched with plans to set up Power Projects with total installed capacity of 6000 MW.

These Power Projects have been planned to be executed in 4 phases of 1500 MW each, spread over a period of 4 years each, to match the load requirements. First 660 MW Natural Gas Project may be completed within 3 years from zero date. The first 1000 MW Coal Based Thermal Power Plant may be completed in 4 years from zero date.

These Power Plants shall be located in different parts of India depending upon the availability of required infrastructure. To begin with, one 110/220 MW NG-based Plant is coming up at Amby Valley Sahara Lake City and the other two 110/220 MW Plants in any two locations in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh depending upon the availability of Natural Gas. The 1000 MW Coal Based Thermal Power Plant may be located close to coal pits or a seaport.

Power from these Power Projects shall be fed to the State/National Power Grids and wheeled to every Sahara City Homes Site and also to other large commercial and in-house projects across the country. Prestigious projects like Amby Valley Sahara Lake City, Sahara Apollo Hospital – Lucknow, Sahara Star Hotel – Mumbai, Sahara Shopping Malls at Gurgaon and Lucknow, Sahara Grace Luxury Apartments at Gurgaon as well as several in-house projects at Lucknow may also be provided with the power generated by Sahara Power Projects.

The project will make use of the world's best technology, equipments and infrastructure. Highly experienced engineers with proven track records and sufficient expertise in management, Power Plant Engineering and other professionals are also being associated.
The estimated project cost for 6000 MW project would be around USD 6 Billion considering capital cost @ USD 1 Million per MW for a mix of Thermal, Gas and Hydro Power Plants. The estimated annual profit shall be more than USD 1300 million per annum.
